Fabulous Ideas for Evening Weddings
Nothing beats an evening wedding for sophistication and fun. A reception after dark offers many unique possibilities for decor and activities. Get inspired with these fabulous ideas for evening weddings.
If you are having a tented evening wedding outdoors, one of the most wonderful things you can do is to rent a clear top tent. The clear roof will shelter your guests from the elements, yet it also allows the stars in the night sky to be seen twinkling above. What a gorgeous atmosphere for a reception! How romantic it will be to take your first dance with your husband all dressed up in a fabulous gown with sparkling cz bridal jewelry under the twinkling stars. Play up the stars by decorating the tent in a “Starry Night” theme with shades of midnight blue and gold. This would be an exquisite decor theme for a wedding at any time of the year.
Creative use of lighting is always beautiful for an evening wedding. If your wedding will take place indoors, take advantage of the darkness by controlling the lighting scheme. Dim the overhead lights in your reception venue so that your custom plan will create the mood. One great idea is to use a series of color washes to set the tone for the various parts of the reception. The lighting can be pink during the cocktail hour (very flattering), blue during the dinner time (relaxing) and red during the dancing (invigorating). You can even coordinate the lighting according to the mood of the music or band during your entire wedding.
Another thing you can do with lighting is to use custom gobo lights to project images onto the walls or floor of the reception site. If your dream wedding would have taken place in a forest clearing, but you booked a reception hall instead, create your own enchanted forest by projecting tree silhouettes onto the walls. Or turn a Southern Florida banquet hall into a snowy winter wonderland with the use of falling snowflakes lights. The bride who is planning a very formal evening wedding can personalize her reception with a custom monogram projected onto the wall behind the head table or the dance floor. You could even opt to use a custom light scheme to project a phrase onto the wall, such as a romantic line from your favorite love poem.
Every couple wants to make a grand exit from their wedding at the end of the night, and for an evening wedding there are some terrific ways to make this happen. A simple but dramatic idea is to hand out sparklers to the guests. As the bride and groom leave the reception, everyone lines up in two rows along the walkway. The newlyweds make their joyful dash through the sparklers to their waiting car. The photos will be spectacular of the handsome groom and the radiant bride surrounded by sparklers. The sparklers will really play up the bride’s dazzling cz bridal jewelry and light up the couple’s faces.
If you really want to make a splash at your evening wedding, a fireworks display is the answer. Some couples like to have them at the very end of the night, right as they make their grand exit from the reception. Others prefer to have them during the reception to ensure that all of the guests are still around to see the fireworks spectacular. Between the cocktail hour and the start of dinner would be a logical time to do that, as long as it will be very dark outside by then. Otherwise you can wait until the time between dinner and dancing. In most areas it is dark by around 9pm in the summer, but you can check with your local weather service for the sunset time where you live and plan accordingly. Your guests will be blown away by the fabulous fireworks at your evening wedding!
